Water running from a black kitchen faucet

New to water treatment? Start here.

Six steps from “what’s in my water?” to a system that keeps working, with a certified water specialist on hand for every one.

  1. Know your water

On city water, look up your city: we have its hardness and whether it’s disinfected with chlorine or chloramine. On a well, test it. A lab test tells you about bacteria, iron, manganese and sulphur, and nothing should be chosen before you know.

  2. Choose what treats it

Each problem has its own fix: a softener for hardness, catalytic carbon for chloramine, an iron and sulphur filter for orange stains and a rotten-egg smell, UV for bacteria, reverse osmosis for drinking water at the tap.

  3. Size it for your home

A system that’s too small runs out between regenerations, and one that’s too big wastes salt and water. Size a softener from your hardness, the iron in your water and how many people live with you.

  4. Order it

Shipping is free on most orders over $200 before tax. Most orders ship the next business day and arrive within five. Not right? Most items can be returned within 30 days.

  5. Install it

Our Citymaster and Wellmaster softeners ship ready to plumb in: resin loaded, valve programmed, connectors that tighten by hand. Our start-up guides walk you through the rest, whether you install it yourself or have a plumber do it.

  6. Keep it running

Cartridges, lamps, membranes and salt all come due. Add your system to your account and we’ll remind you when its part is due, with the one that fits.

Rather someone just told you?
